We are a research group in the Department of Psychology at Bilkent University dedicated to understanding how humans read.

Our work investigates the sensory and cognitive mechanisms that support reading, as well as the constraints that can make it challenging for some individuals.
We aim to make reading accessible for all. To do this, we study both the fundamental science of reading and its applied implications, exploring adaptive strategies for digital text and other real-world reading environments.
Our research bridges basic and applied perspectives, combining methods such as behavioral experiments and eye tracking to gain a deeper understanding of how reading unfolds in the brain and in daily life.
